About Depth
Your athlete profile, records and privacy. Together in one place.
Depth is a private-by-default athlete profile and performance platform for freedivers. The product begins with a simple promise: athletes own their underwater story, control supported visibility settings, and can share a profile that feels worthy of the care they put into the sport. Profile names, usernames, and uploaded profile and hero images remain public, including on private profiles.
Founder Story
Depth was created by Adam Carson. Adam grew up around water and diving through his father, a Navy Diver who trained to become a Navy SEAL and taught him equalization and shallow freediving in pools and lakes.
In 2012, Adam became the web developer for world-record freediver William Trubridge. Over the next decade, he built websites for elite freediving competitions including Vertical Blue, working close to the athletes, organizers, records, and culture that make the sport extraordinary.
Adam has freedived around the world, not as a competitive freediver, but from love for the underwater world, wildlife, the mental and physical challenge, and the beauty of breath-hold diving.
Product Posture
Depth is not a social feed, a leaderboard-first app, or a generic dive log. It brings together an athlete-controlled profile, a private performance archive, and a foundation for future credential and organization workflows.
The MVP centers on public athlete profiles, dive logs, automatically derived records, profile media, Depth Card sharing, safety boundaries, and private-by-default controls.
